COVID-19/SAFETY POLICY

THIS PAST YEAR AND A HALF HAS BEEN AN INCREDIBLE CHALLENGE FOR EVERYONE. WE WERE SADDENED TO HAVE TO CANCEL LIVE PERFORMANCES DURING THE 2019/2020 AND 2020/2021 SEASONS BUT REMAIN GRATEFUL FOR THE SUPPORT SHOWN FOR OUR MUSICAL UPLINK SERIES. AS WE LOOK FORWARD TO IN-PERSON PERFORMANCES, THE SEQUOIA SYMPHONY BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAS DECIDED THE BEST COURSE OF ACTION WOULD BE TO FOLLOW THE SAFETY GUIDELINES PUT IN PLACE BY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR INDOOR LIVE EVENTS. WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO PRIORITIZE THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF MUSICIANS, STAFF AND OUR COMMUNITY WHILE STILL TRYING TO WELCOME AS MANY PEOPLE FROM OUR DIVERSE COMMUNITY INTO THE AUDIENCE

EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 20TH, THE SEQUOIA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA WILL REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING FOR ENTRY TO ALL CONCERTS:

  • VALID PROOF OF FULL VACCINATION

OR

  • VALID PROOF OF A NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST TAKEN WITHIN 72 HOURS OF THE CONCERT

  • MASKS REQUIRED FOR ALL IN ATTENDANCE, REGARDLESS OF VACCINATION STATUS

AS OF RIGHT NOW, THIS POLICY WILL BE IN EFFECT FOR THE OCTOBER 15/16 CONCERTS (STAR WARS) AND NOVEMBER 20TH CONCERT (SCHEHERAZADE). THIS POLICY IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE FOLLOWING THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA'S REEVALUATION OF THE GUIDELINES ON OCTOBER 15TH.

ADDITIONALLY, AND IN AN EFFORT TO LIMIT POINTS OF CONTACT AND TRANSMISSION OPPORTUNITIES, WE WILL ONLY PROVIDE A DIGITAL PLAYBILL FOR THE 21/22 SEASON. THE DIGITAL PLAYBILL WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING THE DATE OF THE CONCERT ON OUR WEBSITE OR BY SCANNING A QR CODE IN THE LOBBY OF THE FOX THEATRE. WE HAVE ALSO DECIDED THAT WE WILL NOT BE SELLING ANY CONCESSIONS (WINE, WATER, POPCORN, ETC.) LIKE WE'VE DONE IN THE PAST.

ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IF YOU ARE NOT VACCINATED?

THAT'S OKAY! IF YOU ARE NOT VACCINATED, YOU CAN PROVIDE PROOF OF A NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST THAT WAS TAKEN WITHIN 72 HOURS OF THE EVENT.

WHAT FORMS OF PROOF OF VACCINATION OR NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST WILL BE ACCEPTED?

FULLY VACCINATED MEANS THAT EITHER THE FIRST DOSE OF THE JOHNSON & JOHNSON VACCINE, OR THE SECOND DOSE OF EITHER THE MODERNA OR PFIZER/BIONTECH VACCINES HAVE BEEN ADMINISTERED AT LEAST 14 DAYS BEFORE THE CONCERT YOU'RE ATTENDING. PATRONS MUST BRING EITHER THEIR VACCINATION CARD, A DIGITAL PHOTO OF THEIR CARD, A LEGIBLE COPY OF THEIR CARD, OR A DIGITAL VERSION OF THEIR VACCINATION RECORD (HEALTHVANA, CDPH, ETC.)

YOU MUST ALSO BRING A PHOTO ID (STUDENT ID IF UNDER 18. NO ID REQUIRED FOR SUPERVISED CHILDREN)

UNVACCINATED PATRONS (INCLUDING THOSE 12 AND UNDER) MAY ALSO PRESENT A NEGATIVE TEST RESULT IN ORDER TO GAIN ADMISSION TO THE EVENING'S EVENT. EITHER AN FDA APPROVED PCR OR ANTIGEN TEST RESULT WILL BE ACCEPTED. PCR TEST RESULTS WILL NEED TO BE WITHIN 72 HOURS OF THE EVENT. ANTIGEN TEST RESULTS WILL NEED TO BE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE EVENT. ANY TEST RESULTS SHOULD BE ISSUED BY EITHER A PHYSICIAN OR A CLIA CERTIFIED LABORATORY. DIGITAL VERSIONS OR PHOTOCOPIES OF THE RESULTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

YOU MUST ALSO BRING A PHOTO ID (STUDENT ID IF UNDER 18. NO ID REQUIRED FOR SUPERVISED CHILDREN)

WHAT IS THE MASK POLICY FOR UPCOMING CONCERTS?

ALL AUDIENCE MEMBERS, REGARDLESS OF VACCINATION STATUS, WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR MASKS IN ACCORDANCE TO THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH'S GUIDELINES FOR FACE COVERINGS INSIDE THE VENUE. PER CDPH GUIDELINES, THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUALS ARE EXEMPT FROM WEARING MASKS AT ALL TIMES:

  • PERSONS YOUNGER THAN TWO YEARS OLD. VERY YOUNG CHILDREN MUST NOT WEAR A MASK BECAUSE OF THE RISK OF SUFFOCATION.

  • PERSONS WITH A MEDICAL CONDITION, MENTAL HEALTH CONDITION, OR DISABILITY THAT PREVENTS WEARING A MASK. THIS INCLUDES PERSONS WITH A MEDICAL CONDITION FOR WHOM WEARING A MASK COULD OBSTRUCT BREATHING OR WHO ARE UNCONSCIOUS, INCAPACITATED, OR OTHERWISE UNABLE TO REMOVE A MASK WITHOUT ASSISTANCE.

  • PERSONS WHO ARE HEARING IMPAIRED, OR COMMUNICATING WITH A PERSON WHO IS HEARING IMPAIRED, WHERE THE ABILITY TO SEE THE MOUTH IS ESSENTIAL FOR COMMUNICATION

  • PERSONS FOR WHOM WEARING A MASK WOULD CREATE A RISK TO THE PERSON RELATED TO THEIR WORK, AS DETERMINED BY LOCAL, STATE, OR FEDERAL REGULATORS OR WORKPLACE SAFETY GUIDELINES.
